This should make sense to everyone. If you do not dwell on the future, you can never fail. You are always on The Journey, and the goal is just another step in The Journey. This is no failure, failing is in the future. What you do today, in the here and now, will change and shaped what tomorrow, next week, and next year brings.
With that, I am going to list my 2012 Steps of The Journey:
#1- Heal up from surgery that is coming in 17 days.
#2- Get down to 180 pounds bodyweight.
#3- Climb my first rock, 600' up Looking Glass Rock, NC.
#4- Hike my first 14,000' with my family.
#5- Do a 1-arm hand stand.
#6- Do a 1-arm pull-up.
#7- 40 good pull-ups on the Bombs and climbing holds.
#8- Meditate 20-30 minutes every day.
#9- Make sure everyone around me is happy.
#10- Ride at least 20 miles a week on my pedal bike.
#11- Take the kids fishing as much as possible!
That list seems like a very nice path to follow this year. 2011 was crazy for us, lots of ups and downs and health issues all around, but that aint slowing me down. Bring on 2012...I am ready for you.
